Two workers installing a safety railing at an apartment building in Incheon's Gyeyang District fell to their deaths, police said.
The two men, one in his 60s and the other in his 70s, fell 18 meters to the ground from a sixth-floor balcony of an apartment building in Jakjeon-dong, Gyeyang District, at about 11:25 a.m. on the 2nd, according to the metropolitan crime investigation unit of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on the 3rd.
Both men received CPR while in cardiac arrest and were taken to a hospital by paramedics, but they were pronounced dead.
The two are believed to have been hoisting a new steel railing to the sixth floor with a rope after removing the old safety railing from the balcony. Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
