BUSAN — A tugboat capsized in waters off the Oryukdo islets in Busan on the 2nd, prompting the Korea Coast Guard to launch a rescue operation for those aboard.
The vessel overturned in waters near Oryukdo at about 1:30 p.m., according to the Busan Coast Guard. About 10 crew members were aboard at the time of the accident, sources said.
After receiving the report, the Coast Guard dispatched personnel and equipment to the site and is carrying out the rescue operation.
The Coast Guard is working to confirm the exact number and condition of those aboard, as well as the circumstances of the accident.
