South Gyeongsang Province has expanded and reorganized its Smart Spatial Information Platform into a life-oriented service, allowing residents to view a range of everyday information at a glance on a map, including "jobs near my home" and "pet-friendly travel destinations." The overhaul is expected to move the platform beyond an administration-centered system and establish it as a spatial data service that residents can tangibly experience.
According to South Gyeongsang Province on the 26th, the province recently overhauled the main page of the Smart Spatial Information Platform and added new resident-oriented services.
The Smart Spatial Information Platform is a system that integrates administrative information—previously scattered across departments and tasks—into map-based spatial data. It was built in three phases from 2020 to 2023 to support information sharing and collaboration among departments and to improve the efficiency of policy decisions and administrative work. The platform supports internal administrative tasks as well as various public services that residents can use.
Its flagship service, the "Gyeongnam Real Estate Portal," allows users to check real estate-related information on a map, including continuous cadastral maps, land-use zones, officially assessed land prices, individual housing prices, land-use plans, building information, and road name addresses. It also provides living and administrative information such as public healthcare, cultural and sports facilities, industrial complexes, and disaster safety data maps.
This overhaul focused on improving accessibility and usability so that residents can use frequently used services more easily and quickly. Major content such as the real estate portal was placed at the front of the main screen, the screen layout was improved, and life-oriented content was reinforced.
The newly added "Jobs Near Me" service was designed to let users check nearby job listings on a map centered on their current location or a desired area. By providing workplace locations along with job listings, it has made job searches centered on one's living area much more convenient.
In August, a pet-friendly travel map service called "Gangsaeng-i and Gaeng-i" for households raising pets will also be introduced. It will provide map-based information on tourist attractions and convenience facilities that can be visited with pets.
Through this overhaul, South Gyeongsang Province plans to maintain its existing administrative support functions while continuously expanding the scope of use into a life-oriented platform that residents can experience in their daily lives.
Jang Jae-hyeok, director general of the Urban Housing Bureau of South Gyeongsang Province, said, "This overhaul focused on raising residents' sense of tangible benefit by expanding life-oriented content such as jobs within one's living area and pet travel information." He added, "Based on spatial data, we will continue to discover and advance services that provide practical help to residents' lives."
