
Lee made the remarks in response to a question on real estate at a press conference held at the presidential office in Cheong Wa Dae. "Fortunately, declines in home prices have begun in areas including Gangnam and are spreading," he said. "Outlying areas are rising. It appears a kind of leveling-out process is under way."
He stressed that "going forward, we will expand supply as quickly as possible, including building permits, residential land development, reconstruction, redevelopment and urban renewal." Lee said, "The prime minister's office checks daily and I receive reports every week, identifying specific sites and confirming progress." He added, "We will release data soon, and the number of building permits is rising significantly."
He also said, "In areas where housing supply can be increased, we will expand financing to the greatest extent possible," stressing, "We will take every measure we can on regulation, supply and taxation."
