Prime Minister Han Seong-sook will hold a dinner with Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok on the 15th to discuss legislation, the budget and other issues.
The dinner comes two days after a high-level government-party meeting held on the 13th at the prime minister's official residence in Jongno District, Seoul. The gathering was arranged to congratulate Kim and other members of the party's new leadership on taking office, according to officials. A ruling bloc official said, "While the main issues were taken up at the high-level government-party meeting, a wide range of topics including legislation and the budget are likely to come up."
The high-level government-party meeting itself was held three weeks after the previous one on Aug. 23. Han said of the meeting, "Less than a month has passed, and the fact that we are sitting down together again shows just how important a turning point this is for people's livelihoods and state affairs."
