
A severe heat alert was issued on the 25th for southern Dalseong in Daegu and the central and southern areas of Goryeong, Pohang, and Gyeongju in North Gyeongsang Province.
A heat wave warning was issued for most areas of Daegu and for Gumi, Yeongcheon, Gyeongsan, Cheongdo, Seongju, Chilgok, Sangju, and Uiseong in North Gyeongsang Province, as well as the northern and southern parts of Gimcheon, the southeastern and western parts of Andong, the lowlands of Uljin, and the eastern and western parts of Gyeongju. A heat wave advisory was issued for Mungyeong, Yecheon, Yeongju, Cheongsong, and Yeongdeok, the northern part of Andong, the lowlands of Yeongyang and Bonghwa, the mountainous areas of Yeongyang and Uljin, and Ulleungdo and Dokdo.
The Daegu Regional Meteorological Administration said, "In areas where the severe heat alert has been issued, the maximum perceived temperature is expected to rise to 38 to 39 degrees, bringing extreme heat that could threaten lives." It added, "Please refrain from outdoor activities if possible and pay special attention to health management, such as drinking sufficient water."
