SFA (056190.KS) will work with Rainbow Robotics (277810.KS) to develop artificial intelligence-driven autonomous manufacturing and robotics technologies.
SFA said on the 30th that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Rainbow Robotics at its Asan plant in South Chungcheong Province to jointly research and develop AI autonomous manufacturing and robotics technologies and to expand related business.
The two companies plan to combine SFA's intelligent logistics and manufacturing software operating platform and AI autonomous manufacturing robotics technology with Rainbow Robotics' robot hardware and precision control technology. Through that, they will jointly develop robot solutions for unmanned manufacturing and logistics sites and expand the related business.
SFA said the partnership will upgrade its advanced robot logistics solutions and accelerate its push toward fully unmanned operations, which it is targeting for 2030. Rainbow Robotics expects to broaden the range of applications and customers for its industrial robots by drawing on SFA's manufacturing equipment business.
"We are working to bring in-house the core technologies across the entire robot logistics chain in manufacturing and distribution, with the goal of fully unmanned operations," an SFA official said. "By jointly developing robot technology with Rainbow Robotics, we will respond to a wide range of customer demand and strengthen our competitiveness in the global AI autonomous manufacturing robotics market."
