Samsung Securities Hands Out Chicken to Baseball Fans in Pension Push

Samsung Securities (016360.KS) said on the 30th that it is running a promotional event handing out fried chicken and cheering tools to baseball fans through Oct. 7, timed to the autumn baseball season. The brokerage launched the campaign a day earlier at Sports Complex Station near Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul.

The event is designed to draw attention to the firm's pension products among fans visiting the ballpark.

To take part, customers watch the event video on Samsung Securities' official YouTube channel, leave a witty pension-themed comment ending with the Korean word for chicken, and submit an entry through a Google form. Participants can choose which game day they wish to attend among games held at Jamsil Baseball Stadium through Oct. 7, excluding Oct. 2, when no games are scheduled.

Samsung Securities will select 100 winners by lottery for each game day and provide chicken along with cheering clappers carrying the event slogan. Winners can pick up their packages at an on-site booth near Exit 6 of Sports Complex Station on the game day they selected.

"We hope this serves as an opportunity for younger generations to see pensions as a familiar product they should take an interest in and prepare for starting now," an official at Samsung Securities said. The brokerage plans to continue the event through the postseason once the game schedule is confirmed.
