HDC Hyundai Development is upgrading its residential services using artificial intelligence and robotics. The builder plans to bring health care, robot services and a range of other smart technologies into living spaces, expanding day-to-day services around an AI-based integrated housing solution.
Park Roche Seoul One in Wolgye-dong, Seoul, will be developed as a new wellness housing model that combines residential living with health care, the company said on the 29th.
Residents will be able to check their health status at an Asan Medical Center health screening center to be installed at Park Roche Seoul One. Where screening results call for regular follow-up observation, a clinic will also operate so that residents can receive outpatient care. Under a memorandum of understanding signed with Nowon Eulji University Hospital, the company also plans to provide services supporting round-the-clock health monitoring as well as rapid hospital transfers and treatment referrals in emergencies.
Wearable devices and contactless sensors inside each unit will be used to track residents' day-to-day health. Biometric data collected by the wearable devices will be analyzed to monitor key health indicators such as heart rate, activity levels and sleep, while in-unit sensors will detect early warning signs of falls or cardiovascular problems. When an abnormal situation arises, the system will link a 24-hour control center with emergency alerts to enable a rapid response.
HDC Hyundai Development is also expanding robot-based living support services within its IPARK complexes to improve convenience for residents. At Gocheok IPARK, HDC Labs earlier ran a pilot program for resident helper robots in partnership with a robotics company. The helper robots support a variety of everyday tasks, including contactless delivery and trash bag collection. They deliver food, beverages and goods ordered from cafeterias and retail outlets inside the complex to residents' doors, and can also accept outside food deliveries without face-to-face contact.
"Going forward, we will continue to advance residential services that improve the safety and convenience of IPARK residents, based on AI and digital technologies," an official at HDC Hyundai Development said.
