Park Won-jae, vice president and head of investor relations at LG Electronics (066570.KS), received the Best Investor Relations Officer award at the 2026 Korea IR Awards ceremony held on the 18th at the Korea Exchange's Seoul office in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul.
The Korea IR Awards are presented by the Korea IR Council, an organization under the Korea Exchange, to companies and officials that have contributed to the sound development of the capital market through effective investor relations activities.
The award marks the third consecutive year LG Electronics has been recognized at the Korea IR Awards, following the Financial Services Commission Chairman's Award, the top corporate prize, in 2024 and an excellence award in the corporate category last year.
LG Electronics has been stepping up its communication with investors. The company holds shareholder meetings at which the chief executive officer and business unit heads directly explain business strategy and vision, and it has improved accessibility for investors through online broadcasts, real-time Korean and English interpretation, and sign language interpretation.
Since 2024, quarterly earnings conference calls, previously led by the investor relations team, have been elevated to being hosted by the chief financial officer.
The company is also expanding its shareholder return policy. In 2024, LG Electronics announced a corporate value enhancement plan that included raising its dividend payout ratio, introducing a minimum dividend and adopting semiannual dividends. It cancelled treasury shares last year, and this year it completed a 100 billion won ($72 million) share buyback that it plans to cancel within the year.
"We will continue to communicate with the market transparently and sincerely, raising corporate value and strengthening investor trust," Park said.
