Hanwha Life Insurance (088350.KS), Hanwha Asset Management and other financial affiliates of Hanwha (000880.KS) are expanding cooperation with financial institutions in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, in digital finance and stablecoins.
Hanwha's financial units said on the 18th that they signed separate partnerships with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) at the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum (ADIF Seoul), held on the 16th at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seoul. The forum is designed to introduce Abu Dhabi's investment environment and future growth industries to global markets and to identify long-term investment and business partnerships with major companies and investors.
Hanwha Life Insurance signed a partnership with ADIO on cooperation in digital finance. The two sides agreed to work together in three areas: building a digital finance ecosystem, connecting the financial and capital markets of South Korea and Abu Dhabi, and advancing digital banking and financial innovation.
Hanwha Asset Management signed a three-way partnership on stablecoins and financial infrastructure with ADGM and Hana Financial Group. The parties will push to expand cross-border payment and remittance solutions linking South Korea and Abu Dhabi and will also cooperate on building an interoperable digital asset ecosystem.
Hanwha's financial units also signed an Abu Dhabi Finance Week (ADFW) 2026 partnership with ADGM. The agreement fleshes out the scope of cooperation after the two sides identified joint investment in real assets, supply chain finance, cross-border payment infrastructure and digital asset platforms as areas for future financial cooperation at ADFW 2025 last December.
"With this agreement as a starting point, we will develop our cooperation with Abu Dhabi into tangible business opportunities," said Kwon Hyuk-woong, vice chairman of Hanwha Life Insurance. "On that basis, we will further strengthen the foundation for Hanwha Life Insurance to emerge as a financial company leading the global market."
Lim Dong-jun, chief executive of Hanwha Asset Management, said, "Through this agreement, we will contribute to creating a stable and interoperable digital asset market and establish ourselves as an asset manager that helps Abu Dhabi grow into a hub of the global financial ecosystem."
