South Korea's largest capital market investor relations event, bringing together 42 institutions from the government, related agencies and the private sector, will open later this month in the country's first integrated IR program. Unlike previous events limited to institutional and professional investors, this one includes a session open to retail investors.
Korea Premium Week 2026 will run for three weeks from the 28th of this month through Oct. 16, according to the Financial Services Commission on the 15th. The event, the largest capital market IR program held in the country, brings together 42 institutions — including the Financial Services Commission, the Korea Exchange, stock market-related agencies, the financial investment industry and media companies — along with 55 listed companies.
Major Asian competitors such as Japan and Taiwan have strengthened promotion to global investors through integrated capital market IR events such as Japan Weeks and Taiwan Weeks. In Korea, by contrast, such efforts have been pursued sporadically by individual institutions, drawing criticism that the attention of foreign institutional investors and domestic participants was being dispersed. The plan is to hold 25 consecutive events over three weeks to create a forum for global discussion covering the market as a whole.
The program consists of a core week in the first week and sub weeks in the second and third weeks. During the core week, the government and the exchange will host a global conference for institutional investors. On the 28th, the opening day, an opening ceremony and policy session will be followed by discussions on capital market reform measures, the results and future direction of corporate governance improvements, and foreign exchange market reform measures. Major securities firms and asset management companies will also operate promotional booths on site, offering attendees a range of information and networking opportunities.
On the 29th, participants will discuss a range of market issues, including a vision and tasks for the Korea premium era, upgrading capital market infrastructure through extended trading hours and shorter settlement cycles, measures to strengthen the competitiveness of the KOSDAQ market, and ways to improve the quality of growth in the exchange-traded product market. Globally competitive Korean companies including Samsung Electronics (005930.KS), SK hynix (000660.KS), Samsung Biologics (207940.KS), Doosan Enerbility (034020.KS), Hanwha Aerospace (012450.KS), Shinhan Financial Group (055550.KS) and Robotis (108490.KQ) will hold one-on-one meetings with foreign investors.
Retail Investor Seminar Features Yeom Seung-hwan, Kim Sung-il
On the 30th, programs tailored to retail investors will be concentrated at the conference hall on the first floor of the Korea Exchange building in Yeouido, Seoul. Market experts including Oh Gun-young, head of Shinhan Premier Pathfinder, LS Securities (078020.KS) Director Yeom Seung-hwan, Kim Sung-il, chief executive of Uprise Investment Advisory and head of its pension investment research institute, and Kim Dong-yeop, managing director of Mirae Asset's Investment and Pension Center, plan to hold open seminars offering assessments of the current market and companies, along with life-cycle asset management methods for people in their 20s and 30s and practical guides to pension investing.
Presentations by listed companies including Dalba Global (483650.KQ), Samyang Foods (003230.KS), Robotis, Kiwoom Securities (039490.KS), ST Pharm (237690.KQ) and Shinhan Financial Group will also be held so investors can gather ample information on Korean companies and financial investment products. Securities firms and asset managers will operate promotional booths for products such as retirement pensions and individual savings accounts.
The retail investor seminar is open to anyone interested in investing. Advance registration is being accepted through the event website until the 18th of this month, and on-site registration will also be available on the day of the event.
Seoul Economic Daily Invest Forum Also Set for Sub Week
A variety of programs will also run during the sub weeks. They include a seminar on Oct. 6 to assess the KOSDAQ market and gather views on revitalizing it, a policy seminar on Oct. 8 on invigorating the venture exit market for the financial investment industry, and a global bond forum on Oct. 15 co-hosted by the Korea Financial Investment Association, Korea Securities Finance Corporation and the Korea Securities Depository.
Seoul Economic Daily's Invest Forum, now in its 16th year, will be held on Oct. 13 and join the Korea Premium Week lineup. This year's forum, under the theme "The AI Shift: The Next Paradigm in Infrastructure Investment," will bring together officials from major domestic venture capital firms.
