Daewoo Engineering & Construction (047040) is selling units at its Brain City Prugio complex in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, where expectations are building for an expansion of Samsung Electronics' production facilities at its Pyeongtaek campus.
The complex is being built on Joint Block 3 of a general industrial park in Jangan-dong, Pyeongtaek, with move-in targeted for April 2028, Daewoo E&C said on the 15th. The development comprises 16 buildings of up to 35 floors with 1,990 units ranging from 59 to 119 square meters in exclusive floor area. Only 119-square-meter units remain available. The 119-square-meter units come in two layouts, with Type A in a flat-plate design and Type B in a tower design, allowing buyers to choose based on preference.
The complex is considered to have a competitive location within Brain City. A kindergarten and Doil 1 Elementary School, a tentative name for a school scheduled to open in September this year, sit directly in front of the complex, and the Pyeongtaek campus of Hankyong National University is within walking distance. Brain City's only central commercial district is also nearby, pointing to a convenient living environment after move-in.
The complex also has access to a wide-ranging transport network. Pyeongtaek Jije Station, a 15-minute drive away, provides access to Seoul Subway Line 1 and the SRT high-speed rail, and a wide-area line with KTX service departing from Suwon is being pursued within the year. Extensions of the Great Train Express (GTX) A and C lines are also planned, which are expected to sharply cut travel times to Seoul and other parts of the greater capital area.
Fitness and leisure facilities will include Brain City's first four-lane indoor swimming pool, along with a sauna, golf club, group exercise club and fitness club. Educational and cultural facilities such as a reading room, study rooms, a shared office and a greenery cafe are also planned.
The model house for Brain City Prugio is located at 734-3 Jukbaek-dong, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. A real estate industry expert said interest in Brain City as a nearby residential area has continued as the expansion of Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek campus moves forward, adding that there are strong expectations that demand for homes near workplaces will grow if expanded semiconductor production capacity leads to more jobs and population inflows.
