Woori Bank will deploy artificial intelligence (AI) agents in the second half and accelerate data-driven, customized sales.
The bank held its "2026 Second-Half Management Strategy Meeting" at its head office in Hoehyeon-dong, Seoul, with about 410 executives and employees in attendance, Woori Bank said on the 26th.
Woori Bank plans to analyze public data, commercial district information and customer profiles to realign its sales territories around administrative districts, and to refine its key performance indicator (KPI) targets to match local market conditions in each region. Considering that 88.4% of individual customers use non-face-to-face transactions, the bank also plans to analyze each customer's transaction flow and product and channel usage to apply the findings to consultation and marketing.
The bank will also introduce AI agents for effective data utilization. Through this, it aims to speed up customer response and business processing. Woori Bank plans to overhaul its AI utilization environment and systems in preparation for the easing of network separation regulations.
The bank will also expand collaboration among corporate finance, wealth management (WM), retirement pensions and digital platforms. It will connect services such as Samsung Wallet Money, One Biz Plaza, Woori WON FX and Woori SAFE Settlement to broaden customer touchpoints, and upgrade its evaluation system to reflect joint sales performance.
Woori Bank posted second-quarter net profit of 842.1 billion won, up more than 58% from the previous quarter, in a successful turnaround. It also strengthened its fundamentals, including customers, capital and trust, laying the groundwork for second-half sales. Monthly active users (MAU) of Woori WON Banking surpassed 9 million in the first half, and its common equity tier 1 (CET1) ratio rose to 15.3% at the end of June this year from 13.1% at the end of last year.
"All employees must raise productivity and performance based on a sense of ownership, and connect this to enhancing corporate value," bank president Jung Jin-wan said. "In the second half, we must produce clear results and dramatically narrow the gap with competing banks."
