Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) (015760.KS) said on the 26th that it won a top award as the only Korean company recognized at the "2026 ICA Compliance Awards Asia-Pacific," organized by the International Compliance Association (ICA).
The ICA is the leading global authority in the compliance field, with a network spanning 155 countries worldwide. The "ICA Compliance Awards," which have been held mainly in Europe including the United Kingdom, is a ceremony that draws global companies such as Microsoft, Meta, Shell, and Barclays. This year, the ICA newly established the Asia-Pacific Awards, applying the same global judging criteria used in the European awards, to establish compliance management standards for the growing Asian region.
At the Asia-Pacific Awards held for the first time this year, KEPCO was selected as the only Korean company to reach the finalist stage in the Culture and Ethics category and the Compliance Team category, and won the top award in the Culture and Ethics category.
"This shows that KEPCO's integrity and ethics culture capabilities are at a world-class level, on par with Inditex and global financial firm Zurich Insurance, which won at the ICA Compliance Awards in Europe," a KEPCO official said. "In particular, the internalization of ethical values across the company as a whole—including field-focused ethics education programs, employee-participation compliance campaigns, and direct communication messages from the chief executive officer (CEO)—received high marks from the panel of judges."
"It is very meaningful and a source of pride that the integrity and ethics management and efforts to strengthen internal controls, which all employees have pursued with one heart, have been recognized by the ICA and global experts," President Kim Dong-cheol said. "Taking this top award as an opportunity, we will firmly establish ourselves as a global integrity and ethics management leader trusted by the entire world, as Korea's representative public corporation."
