Buchang Confectionery's walnut cookies, selected as the official dessert of the 2025 APEC summit, will now appear at the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. Buchang Confectionery, together with JUSPEACE, a public-interest foundation established by G-Dragon, will present a K-dessert and world heritage protection campaign to delegations from around the world.
Buchang Confectionery said Wednesday that it will participate as an official partner in the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee, held at BEXCO in Busan from the 19th.
The UNESCO World Heritage Committee is UNESCO's top decision-making body, discussing major issues related to the listing, conservation and protection of world heritage sites. It is the first time the meeting has been held in Korea in the 38 years since the country joined the World Heritage Convention. Government delegations and cultural heritage experts from around the world will attend the meeting to discuss the conservation and use of world heritage.
Buchang Confectionery will operate a pop-up booth together with JUSPEACE at the K-Heritage House, which will run during the event. On-site, the company plans to bake and offer signature walnut cookies, including the "Daisy Bam Walnut Cookie" featuring a white daisy flower decoration, to delegations from around the world and to domestic and international visitors.
The "Daisy Bam Walnut Cookie" is the flagship product of the "LOVE & PEACE" project run jointly by JUSPEACE and Buchang Confectionery. Since it was first unveiled at a G-Dragon fan meeting, it has drawn strong interest, with long lines forming at every pop-up event and prepared stock selling out early.
Starting with this collaboration, Buchang Confectionery will unveil various K-dessert series with JUSPEACE in sequence. Through a collaboration model combining K-desserts with public interest, the company plans to expand its brand value beyond Korea into the global market.
Marking this World Heritage Committee, JUSPEACE is also pursuing the "HERITAGE IN PEACE" World Heritage Fund campaign. As a project to spread world heritage protection as a culture shared by citizens and companies and to promote the value of the World Heritage Fund, Buchang Confectionery will also participate as an official partner to lend its support.
Buchang Confectionery was earlier selected as the official dessert sponsor at the 2025 APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit, providing walnut cookies as the official dessert for major meetings including the Concluding Senior Officials' Meeting (CSOM), the joint Ministerial Meeting (AMM) and the APEC CEO Summit.
"We find it meaningful to participate as an official partner in the UNESCO World Heritage Committee being held in Korea for the first time," a Buchang Confectionery official said. "We hope it will be a meaningful project that not only showcases Korea's dessert culture and the competitiveness of K-food to delegations from around the world, but also, together with the JUSPEACE foundation, conveys the value of world heritage protection."
