The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX) has partnered with Naver Cloud to support the AI-based digital transformation of the corporation's operations and the AI transformation (AX) of companies located in industrial complexes.
KICOX said Wednesday it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Naver Cloud at Naver's headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, to innovate the corporation's operations using AI technology and support the AX of tenant companies in industrial complexes.
The agreement was arranged to safely and efficiently introduce generative AI into public institution operations, in line with the government's policy to expand AI use in the public sector, while spreading AI adoption at industrial complex sites. The two organizations plan to jointly identify AI models that can be used in public and industrial settings by linking Naver Cloud's AI and cloud technology with KICOX's corporate support infrastructure.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate on launching a proof of concept (PoC) service for KICOX employees using the generative AI 'HyperCLOVA X,' linking Naver Cloud's AI and cloud technology with KICOX's manufacturing support platform 'Smart K-Factory,' and jointly planning and operating AX support programs for tenant companies in industrial complexes.
KICOX will first introduce a generative AI pilot service to improve employees' work productivity. After verifying the effectiveness of AI application focused on repetitive tasks such as answering questions about internal regulations and drafting internal and external requested materials and disclosure documents, the corporation plans to gradually expand the scope of use across all operations based on the results.
AI support for tenant companies will also be strengthened. KICOX plans to upgrade its corporate support services by linking Smart K-Factory with Naver Cloud's AI and cloud services, and to create an environment where companies in industrial complexes can more easily use AI-based services.
"This agreement is a starting point that connects the corporation's work innovation achievements to the spread of AX among tenant companies in industrial complexes," KICOX Chairman Lee Sang-hoon said. "We will verify effectiveness through the generative AI pilot service and refine support policies so that companies in industrial complexes can more easily participate in AI transformation."
