Samsung Asset Management said Wednesday that its KODEX AI Semiconductor TOP2 Plus exchange-traded fund (ETF) has surpassed 5 trillion won in net assets, drawing more than 1 trillion won in retail net buying following a remodeling.
As of Wednesday, the KODEX AI Semiconductor TOP2 Plus ETF recorded net assets of 5.2857 trillion won. That is more than double the 2.2 trillion won recorded on May 13, when the index was remodeled, an increase of more than twofold in a month and a half. A high return of 219.2 percent has served as the driving force pulling in funds. Its one-month return of 5.9 percent is also solid.
Through the remodeling, Samsung Asset Management changed the name of KODEX AI Semiconductor TOP2 Plus and newly added SK Square (402340.KS) to its existing holdings of Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) and SK hynix (000660.KS). Lee Dae-hwan, a manager at Samsung Asset Management, said, "As explosive demand for next-generation semiconductors and investment in AI infrastructure are expected to continue, the popularity of ETFs holding related companies will also be prolonged."
