KCC (002380) is partnering with HDC Hyundai Development Company (294870) to establish a new color standard for the IPARK brand. The strategy combines paint technology and color design capabilities to strengthen brand identity, while using color to enhance safety and spatial recognition.
KCC announced on the 27th that it signed a "strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) for establishing the IPARK brand color identity and color standardization" with HDC Hyundai Development Company on the 26th at KCC's headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
The agreement is part of the IPARK brand renewal project being pursued to mark the 50th anniversary of HDC Group's founding. HDC Hyundai Development Company plans to move away from its existing brand color centered on "IPARK Red" and introduce a new color system centered on burnt umber and ivory, applying it across residential spaces. Burnt umber is a brown-tone color used in art.
Through the agreement, the two companies will jointly pursue: developing and standardizing a specialized color manual for the exterior environment; establishing color guides for shared spaces such as underground parking lots; producing and operating a brand-exclusive color book; and providing technical support for on-site application.
Based on its architectural paint technology and color design expertise, KCC plans to develop the new brand colors and produce a color book, supporting the implementation of consistent color and quality across various construction environments.
In particular, Color Universal Design (CUD) will be applied not only to exteriors but also to underground parking lots and shared spaces. Color Universal Design is a method of designing color so that even people who have difficulty distinguishing colors can easily recognize information. The plan is to help diverse users, including those with color vision deficiency and the elderly, recognize spaces more easily, and to clearly distinguish pedestrian and vehicle routes to enhance safety and convenience.
A KCC official said, "This is meaningful cooperation that implements the brand color in an actual architectural environment while incorporating Color Universal Design," adding, "Based on our paint technology and color expertise, we will establish a differentiated brand color system and contribute to creating a residential environment where design and safety are in harmony."
