HMM (011200.KS) said Tuesday it will operate a standalone booth at "Breakbulk Europe 2026," to be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from Wednesday to Friday.
Breakbulk is Europe's largest special cargo exhibition, and HMM has participated in the event since 2012. This year, more than 12,000 logistics experts, major shipping lines, and shippers from over 120 countries will take part.
Special cargo refers to goods too large to load in standard containers, such as large equipment, plant materials, and wind power components. It requires dedicated equipment such as special containers without ceilings or walls, and high-level transport capabilities, including the use of separate cranes for loading and unloading. As a result, freight rates are higher than for general cargo, classifying it as high-value-added cargo.
HMM established a dedicated special cargo organization in 2007 and has since accumulated transport expertise. Based on its global container network, the company also handles ultra-large and ultra-heavy cargo using various bulk carriers, including dry bulk carriers and multipurpose vessels.
"We plan to expand orders for new high-value-added cargo by introducing our technological capabilities that allow us to transport any type of cargo, as well as our integrated logistics capabilities that can provide the optimal combination for shippers' diverse requests," an HMM official said.
