LS Electric said Wednesday that Green Canvas, an art group made up of employees who are artists with disabilities, has held its first official exhibition.
Green Canvas held its first exhibition under the theme "Where Electricity Flows" at the Ieum Gallery in Jongno-gu, Seoul, from the 4th to the 6th.
The exhibition marks an achievement one year after LS Electric founded Green Canvas in May last year, when it hired 10 artists with severe developmental disabilities as employees.
In this exhibition, 10 artists belonging to Green Canvas presented a total of about 30 works. In particular, a large collaborative work completed by the artists together, titled "LS Electric Connecting with the World," greets visitors at the front of the exhibition hall.
LS Electric's headquarters, major business sites, and global campus, depicted by the artists in distinctive colors and forms, were arranged along a world map, and each work was connected with lighting lines to visualize the power grid that brightens and connects the world.
"Just as electricity brightens and connects the world, I hope this exhibition becomes an occasion to spread the dreams and possibilities of artists with disabilities to more people," said Choi Kyu-tae, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO) and director at LS Electric.
