Core features of Adobe's Photoshop and Lightroom are now available inside Gemini, and Adobe's PDF editing tools can also be used within Claude.
Adobe said on the 30th that it has begun integrating with Gemini, following earlier tie-ups with ChatGPT, Claude, Slack and Copilot. Users can now tap functions from Photoshop, Lightroom (photo editing), Express (media content creation) and Firefly (image generation) while chatting with Gemini.
Adobe cited polished product photography as one use case. A user uploads a product photo to Gemini and describes the style they want, and Adobe optimizes the lighting and color, editing the image to a standard ready for posting on an online store or website. A single image can also be adapted in multiple versions to suit different social media platforms.
Marketing materials can be produced the same way. A marketer describes the campaign and its core target audience, and Adobe uses Express to create a matching design. Text, images and colors can then be adjusted as desired, allowing marketing assets to be assembled quickly.
Adobe is also adding Acrobat, its PDF editing product, to the Adobe for Claude plugin launched earlier this year. A Claude plugin is an extension tool that allows external software or services to be used within Claude. With the Acrobat integration, the number of Adobe functions available through conversation in Claude has risen to more than 80. The plugin already included features from Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere (video editing), among other Adobe products.
Claude users will be able to delete, combine and split PDF pages through the Acrobat plugin, along with a range of other editing tasks. They can open a PDF in Claude to reorder pages and edit text, and can also use Express to modify designs layer by layer. That allows individual elements such as images, colors and fonts to be refined without regenerating the entire design.
