KT (030200.KS) said on the 22nd that it has launched the "AI for All" consortium and begun full-scale development of artificial intelligence services designed for everyday use by the general public.
The launch ceremony was held the previous day at the company's Gwanghwamun office, drawing chief executives of the consortium's main member companies and project leaders from 16 participating firms. Attendees shared the initiative's vision and direction and discussed ways to cooperate.
The members agreed to operate the "Ieum Alliance" to pool the AI models, platforms and service capabilities each company holds. The alliance consists of the "Ieum Connect Board," which decides the project's key direction and priorities, and the "Ieum Eco Round," where all participating organizations share results and progress.
The working structure is divided into a service division and a platform division. The service division handles user-centered AI service planning, user experience design, and the linkage and rollout of public and specialized services. The platform division oversees the linkage and integration of core technologies including AI models, token factory, data and infrastructure.
The KT consortium plans to unveil a beta version of "AI for All" in October. "The launch of this consortium is a starting point for bringing together the AI models, platforms and service capabilities held by domestic AI companies to build AI services the public can feel in daily life," said Lee Jin-hyung, head of KT's AI Transformation (AX) business unit. "Centered on the Ieum Alliance, we will strengthen cooperation among participating companies and improve execution to deliver AI services people can experience in their everyday lives."
