South Korea's women's compound archery team claimed a hard-earned bronze medal.
The team of Park Ye-rin (Korea National Sport University), Park Jeong-yoon (Changwon City Hall) and Kang Yeon-seo (Seongsa Middle School) defeated Taiwan 229-228 in the bronze medal match at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, held on the 30th at Okazaki Central Park in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
The result marked a second consecutive bronze following the 2023 Hangzhou Games. The women's compound team, which won gold at the 2014 Incheon and 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games, had sought to reclaim the title after eight years but lost 233-234 to defending champion India in the semifinals.
Against Taiwan, Korea put all six arrows in the 10-ring in the first end to lead 60-59, and held a one-point lead at 118-117 through the second end. But Korea managed only 55 points in the third end while Taiwan scored 56, leaving the teams tied at 173-173. Korea scored just 56 in the final fourth end, putting even the bronze in doubt, but Taiwan's Huang Yi-jou sent her last arrow into the 7-ring, handing Korea a dramatic one-point victory.
