![Yeungnam University Wins Top Prize at National Regional Innovation Contest [CAPTIONS]

ANDONG — North Gyeongsang Province said on the 6th that Yeungnam University won the grand prize and Daegu Haany University took the top excellence award at the Anchor Innovation and Regional Innovation Case Contest hosted recently by the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Yeungnam University won the grand prize for its project to build a cell culture industrialization complex, which included developing a 230,000-square-meter general industrial complex at the Uiseong Bio Valley and the Gyeongbuk Cell Culture Industry Support Center, and attracting nine companies including Sempio Foods.
Daegu Haany University was recognized for setting up a disaster recovery support team in Yeongdeok County, which suffered damage from large-scale wildfires, and running a phased support system covering damage recovery, livelihood stability, economic revitalization and a return to daily life.
A total of 36 cases from across the country were submitted to the contest, highlighting partnerships between universities and local communities that built development ecosystems and drove shared growth.
