CHEONAN — The city of Cheonan in South Chungcheong Province said on the 29th that it will raise the monthly cashback-eligible spending limit on its Cheonan Love Card to 500,000 won from 400,000 won for three months from October through December.
The city secured an additional 8.575 billion won on top of the 20.425 billion won in central government funding it had originally obtained, giving it 29 billion won in state funds to spend on cashback support for the local gift certificate program.
Cheonan Love Card users receive 10% cashback on spending of up to 500,000 won, for a maximum refund of 50,000 won. Spending above 500,000 won and up to 1 million won earns 1% cashback, adding up to 5,000 won more, for a total monthly benefit of as much as 55,000 won.
"By securing additional state funding, we are able to return greater benefits to our residents," Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo said.
