MEXICO CITY — President Lee Jae-myung, on a state visit to Mexico, launched his official schedule on the 24th by attending a formal welcoming ceremony at the National Palace in Mexico City.
Lee entered the ceremony as he was greeted by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. Dressed in a dark navy suit, Lee shook hands with Sheinbaum and then paid his respects as a military band played the national anthems of both countries. After a photo session at the palace, where the flags of both nations were displayed, the two leaders moved directly to the meeting venue.
Lee and Sheinbaum are holding one-on-one and expanded summit talks to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation. A memorandum of understanding signing ceremony, a joint press announcement and an official luncheon are to follow in turn.
