MEXICO CITY — President Lee Jae-myung said on the 24th that South Korea and Mexico will establish a government-to-government dialogue channel on cooperation in crude oil and critical mineral supply chains.
Lee made the announcement at a joint press briefing after holding a summit with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at the National Palace in Mexico City. Lee is on a state visit to Mexico.

"Since our phone call in May, President Sheinbaum has provided great help in ensuring additional crude oil volumes are supplied to our companies," Lee said. "We agreed to continue cooperating for stable crude oil imports."
Citing the Spanish saying "la unión hace la fuerza," or "unity creates strength," Lee said, "I hope our bilateral relations will open a new chapter based on today's discussions."
