Shinhan Securities (008670) has created a dedicated team to manage retirement pension clients across their entire life cycle, from enrollment through asset management to benefit withdrawals, and has expanded related services.
Shinhan Securities said on the 6th that it set up a Pension Client Management Team this year to provide pension management services tailored to each client's investment profile, asset holdings and retirement readiness. The move reflects the firm's view that as the retirement pension market grows, follow-up management has become as important as product offerings.
The team runs a welcome call program for clients who newly open defined contribution (DC) retirement pension and individual retirement pension (IRP) accounts. Within three days of account opening, the service walks clients through the retirement pension system, how to use their accounts and how to access mobile asset management services. The firm also matches clients one-on-one with "Pension Stars," its top-performing pension private bankers (PBs), who provide investment information and asset management plans suited to each client's risk profile and holdings.
Through Shinhan Premier Pension Consulting, a service specializing in retirement assets, the firm offers simulations of strategies to reduce retirement income tax, withdrawal planning and customized pension reports. It also runs a C-level consulting program for corporate chief executives and senior executives, which analyzes a client's asset structure, tax issues and retirement plans together before proposing an asset management plan.
The Pension Client Management Team has carried out about 200 pension consultations since its launch. In August, the firm added a service allowing clients to request consultations by mobile device without visiting a branch.
"Pensions are financial products for which management and operation after enrollment matter even more," said Jung Yong-wook, head of Shinhan Premier at Shinhan Securities. "We will continue to expand differentiated client management services and pension solutions so that clients can get practical help when they need it."
