Lotte Biologics said its employee volunteer group, LB, carried out a cleanup activity to help protect the environment in Incheon.
The company said on the 30th that the volunteers held a plogging event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the 29th around Hanmaeum Park in Seonhak-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. Plogging combines walking or jogging with picking up litter along the way.
The volunteers walked through the park area, collected discarded trash and sorted it for recycling. The activity was organized to support environmental protection in the community and help residents enjoy a cleaner living environment.
Lotte Biologics has been steadily expanding its community programs. In December last year, it joined the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority in a charity drive to deliver coal briquettes to households in need. In January this year, it worked with the Lotte Group university student volunteer corps to deliver winter supplies and school materials to more than 10 children's centers in Incheon. In April, it planted trees and cleaned up litter in Yeonsu-gu to mark Arbor Day.
The company said it plans to continue community programs based on voluntary participation by its employees.
"Through this activity, our employees were able to practice environmental protection in their daily lives and reflect on what it means to work alongside the community," an official at Lotte Biologics said. "We will continue to pursue a range of programs that can benefit the community."
