Hana Securities is joining forces with startup accelerator Bluepoint Partners to build a cooperation framework spanning the discovery of promising innovative companies, follow-on investment and initial public offerings.
Hana Securities said on the 30th that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Bluepoint Partners on supporting the growth of innovative companies and cooperating in capital markets, at its headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul. The agreement aims to combine the two firms' investment and corporate development capabilities to provide growth companies with the funding and capital market services they need.
Under the agreement, the two firms will cooperate on jointly identifying promising innovative companies and making new investments, arranging follow-on investment in portfolio companies, providing financing at each growth stage including pre-IPO and secondary share transactions, and underwriting IPOs and supporting companies financially after listing.
In particular, the firms plan to link Hana Securities' investment banking capabilities to promising companies that Bluepoint Partners has identified and nurtured, helping early-stage startups grow further. Bluepoint Partners is an accelerator that identifies startups, including deep-tech ventures, and supports them with early investment and development. It has invested in more than 400 startups since its founding in 2014.
"By combining Bluepoint Partners' experience in identifying and nurturing innovative companies with Hana Securities' investment and capital market expertise, we expect to provide practical financial support to companies with high growth potential," Hana Securities CEO Kang Sung-mook said. "We will expand the supply of venture capital to promising innovative companies and offer a range of financial solutions."
