LS Cable & System said on Sept. 29 that it unveiled new power equipment at Data Centre World Asia (DCWA) 2026, Asia's largest data center exhibition, which opened in Singapore that day.
At the event, LS Cable displayed power equipment for high-performance artificial intelligence data centers, including direct current (DC) busducts, superconducting power systems and ultracapacitors (UC) from LS Materials.
DC busducts, power distribution equipment installed inside data centers, raise voltage and lower current compared with conventional alternating current (AC) busducts, reducing power loss and heat generation. Demand for DC busducts is expected to grow in earnest as global big tech firms push to build DC-based data centers.
The superconducting power system can transmit large volumes of electricity at 23 kilovolts (kV), a medium voltage, on a par with existing 154 kV high-voltage transmission networks. The UC is an energy storage device that supports stable power supply by responding to momentary fluctuations in a data center's electricity demand.
LS Cable also showcased communications solutions that use optical cables to support data center interconnection (DCI) and ultra-high-speed, high-capacity data transmission among internal servers and equipment, along with power stabilization solutions.
Through these offerings, LS Cable plans to build a "From Grid to Rack" solution that supplies all the power infrastructure needed for AI data centers, from the power grid to internal server racks.
