LG Electronics (066570.KS) has been named a partner in Nvidia's cooling solutions segment for artificial intelligence data centers.
The company said on the 27th that it has been formally registered as a Power and Cooling partner in the Nvidia Partner Network (NPN), Nvidia's official partner program.
NPN is a global partner program through which Nvidia connects hardware, software and infrastructure suppliers needed to build AI data centers and AI factories. The listing widens LG Electronics' points of contact for supplying cooling equipment such as chillers and coolant distribution units (CDUs) to customers building data centers on Nvidia's AI computing platforms. The company also expects more opportunities for its products to be considered from the earliest planning and design stages of data center projects.
LG Electronics' 600-kilowatt and 1-megawatt CDUs had previously met Nvidia's specification approval requirements. Its 2.5-megawatt CDU also met Nvidia's AI factory specifications and was recognized as a "DSX Ready CDU." DSX is Nvidia's platform for designing and operating AI data centers. As high-performance AI servers proliferate and conventional air cooling alone struggles to handle the heat, liquid cooling — which uses coolant to draw heat directly from chips and servers — is gaining importance.
LG Electronics plans to focus in particular on hyperscalers and colocation operators, which lease data center space, in North America, where global data center investment is concentrated. Backed by its status as an official Nvidia partner, the company aims to strengthen its position in competition for megawatt-class AI data center orders.
"Being listed in the Nvidia Partner Network means LG Electronics' thermal management technology has been recognized as a solution for next-generation AI data center infrastructure," said Lee Jae-sung, president and head of the ES Business Division at LG Electronics.
