The Korea Press Ethics Commission is holding a forum to discuss practical ethical standards suited to a changing media environment.
The commission said on the 29th that it will hold the "2026 2nd Journalism Ethics Forum" on Oct. 1 at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. Suh Soo-min, a professor of communication at Sogang University, will present on "Journalism Ethics Codes and Practical Guidelines for the Use of AI," while Heo Man-seop, a professor of digital media and communication at Kangwon National University, will present on "Improving the Effectiveness of Self-Regulation of Advertorials." In the panel discussion, Shim Seok-tae, an adjunct professor at Semyung University's Graduate School of Journalism, will serve as moderator, joined by panelists including Lee June-woong, a professor of communication at Seoul National University; Kim Hee-won, head of the news standards office at the Hankook Ilbo; Choi Sung-jin, head of the video division at the Hankyoreh's media bureau; Kim Sun-ho, senior research fellow at the Korea Press Foundation; and Hyun Chang-kook, head of the review office at the Korea Press Ethics Commission.
