Everland said on the 20th that it has installed "Spatial Signage," a 3D display system that lets visitors see three-dimensional images without special glasses, at its autumn horror theme zone "Blood City Zero." Set up on the 18th, the displays use Samsung Electronics' "3D Plate" technology to create a sense of depth on screen without 3D glasses or other equipment.
Five displays have been installed in the experience zone. On the 85-inch signage at the center, San of the K-pop group ATEEZ, who serves as the promotional model for Blood City, appears as a zombie character. When visitors touch San on the screen, a 3D video plays in which the character reaches out toward them and appears to leap out of the display. The displays on either side are equipped with facial and distance recognition sensors, producing footage of a zombie approaching the visitor.
Blood City runs through Nov. 22. Everland is also staging an outdoor immersive horror performance produced in collaboration with director Lee Seok-hoon, whose credits include the films "The Pirates" and "Confidential Assignment 2."
